Welcome to our website
We believe our school is unique and can offer our students a range of experiences second to none. We are the smallest high school in Norfolk and proud to be so. Our outstanding student/ teacher ratio is 12:1. This enables us to provide genuinely personal attention in order to develop every students potential. Our staff are committed to this approach and to improving the quality of learning for all. We have high expectations of all our students and expect a high standard of behaviour in return.

External examination results consistently show our students make good progress above national averages. Assessment of our learning support team shows it to be a model of good practice.
Alderman Peel and Visitors
Visitors often comment on the happy and purposeful atmosphere here. One ex-student, now employed as a forensic scientist, recently wrote to say the school gave me the confidence to believe I would succeed. Its that level of support and trust that helps our students thrive!
We look forward to meeting, and working in partnership, with parents who want as much for their children as we do. Read our Prospectus for more information
This balance of skills and talents helps as create a school with a true sense of community spirit, where students are encouraged to aim high, be responsible, support each other and respect the environment around them.
Alderman Peel a Specialist Sports College
The school is a specialist sports college. This designation has brought added staffing, resources and opportunities to the school. Students, staff and the community can benefit from our floodlit multi-sports area which has the best surface available. The new conference room and other facilities have transformed the learning environment in the last few years. As a Sports College, we believe in the values of competition, challenge and teamwork. These are readily demonstrated across the school with student leaders in subjects other than PE and competition extending to class and extra-curricular activities
Alderman Peel and Ofsted
The most recent Ofsted visit to the school was on 11th - 12th December 2012, Ofsted concluded " This is a good school."

Alderman Peel and Partners
Partnerships between students, parents and the wider community are critical to our success. We are the first high school in Norfolk to be awarded Established Extended Schools Accreditation in recognition of the way we have driven up school standards, looked beyond the curriculum and created a culture of lifelong learning.
Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools based upon the number of parents/carers who claim Free School Meals for their child/children.
To ensure that the school receives as much additional funding as possible and children, parents and carers benefit, all parents/carers who may be eligible should complete the 'Application for Free School Meals' which can be downloaded and then return it, confidentially to the school reception .
Wells Primary and Nursery School and Alderman Peel High School use Pupil Premium funding for the following:
- Additional 1 to 1 support for children needing additional support
- Additional group work for children needing additional support
- Access to vocational courses at Easton College (APHS)
- Additional time for staff to meet with parents to complete Individual Education Plans
- Additional resources to ensure children of all abilities are challenged.
- Additional support staff for lessons, break and lunchtime
- Reading Café (Wells Primary and Nursery)
